It was a wonderful experience over there. The land lady picked us up fron Tobu station and was really friendly and guide us which places we should visit. We were amazed by the wooden work of the the cottage.

Property is located 10-15 min walk from the station. Reasonably convenient location. Opposite a tourist information centre. Buses to the major tourist sites and Chuzenji pass in front (though sometimes they don't stop if they are full. You can walk to the first stop at the train station if you have trouble getting on) Central Nikko is a small place so numerous eateries are within short walking distance though many places close early like 6 or 7 pm.
Staying here is just like visiting a relative's home and enjoying the comforts of home. Facilities meet the needs of the weary traveller (if you don't mind the traditional Japanese mattresses on tatami mat). It's a rather worn out looking place from the outside though. Probably at the price paid, one might have expected a bit more.

This is an amazing landed home stay and value for money in Kinugawa area. The entire unit has 1 tatami room and 1 large room fitted with 3 king size bed. Suitable for a group friends like us in 8 person. The unit is located just in front of the Kinugawa station. Within 1km by walking or driving you will find a lot of groceries, supermarket, Izakaya, soba shops. It's really amazing place to spend the time. We enjoy the kitchen area since we can buy alot of sashimi, noodles and rice to cook there. I

Great hotel for a short stay in Nikko, good quality for the price paid. The hotel was quite basic with a small room but it was very clean and overlooked the city/mountains. Same for the bathroom, it was clean but quite tight. Breakfast was basic but decent with a fixed breakfast each morning containing an egg, toast and a salad. Very good connection to the different activities in Nikko with its proximity to the station.
Sato is a very nice and welcoming host. The place is very clean and staying in Imaichi rather than in Tobu-Nikko was not a bad idea at all. Sato recommended a local izakaya that turned out to be undoubtedly the best restaurant experience we had during our 3 weeks in Japan.
Staff were exceptional, place very clean, and had lots of room to sit downstairs and relax with family or friends. Rooms were great, the beds were nice and big but very soft.
