The house is located on the hills, but it is not difficult to find it, next to the house there is a small parking lot for a car, there is a patio, very cozy, with a place for a fire and seats. We arrived late at night and the little lights on the patio were on, it was warm and nice. The house is very clean and beautiful, stands among the green jungle. We loved this house ! Thank you very much to the owners for their hospitality. They left a gift for us in refrigerator - delicious fruits, which we ate with pleasure for breakfast.

I like "slow travel" and prefer to be unwired and free from the distractions of a mobile phone during my wanderings. This makes my journeys just a bit more challenging in the digital age; however, the host was very understanding and let me and my friend register and "check-in" well in advance, before we left the USA for Japan.
A door code was provided beforehand and as we had no issues getting settled into the property when we finally arrived, we had just enough time to make it to our dinner reservations at a nearby local izakaya, Taniya, which we highly recommend for it's inventive and delicious kappo-style menu. Even if you cannot make reservations here, the property is located within walking distance to a number of restaurants, bars and nightlife.
Manabi-stay Matsue is a very charmingly and thoughtfully renovated kominka. We both found that the attention to detail and mix of old and modern touches made for a wonderful stay.

The building and carpentry were first class. Everything was impeccably clean, it had the fragrance of cedar. Location was great, in a quiet neighborhood next to an expansive park. There was a huge bath, projector, hi-fi. There is a private garden. One could not ask for more.

I really liked the surrounding in Matsue close to the castle and great restaurants. The communication and tips by Emi our host were amazing and really a big bonus. She cared for us a lot. Check in and check out we’re also flexible.
The atmosphere in the rooms was very good and how you expect in an Japanese family house. It was also very clean.
Great location, short walk to the station, castle, and situated near the river with nice views. Amazing food and drink locations nearby. Very clean room, relaxing sauna and very nice bathroom facilities, free tea and tea set for a little tea ceremony, comfortable bedding (traditional futon). Beautifully presented and exceptional value for money. What a fun experience.

Great location, walking distance from the castle, museums and other sights. Very clean and good sized rooms. Staff were so lovely! This hotel also has a coin laundry and a convenience store inside the hotel. Perfect for international travellers. Very recommended!
