I was originally supposed to come to this place with my wife in a car, ended up traveling alone and on a bike (long story), still, had a great experience. Located out in the chestnut forests but just a couple of miles out of town, so an ideal location for me: country charm at less than a ten-minute bike ride to shops, restaurants and the train station; great bike rides up Gesso Valley, toward Valderi, over the ridge to Madonna del Colletto and Stura Valley; Grana and Maira valleys also doable; trails up the mountains start right by the house; fairly quick ride to Cuneo. Nice little farmhouse with all amenities, wood-burning stove and fireplace, balcony overlooking a wooded canyon, surrounded by orchards, fields and woods, real quiet, owls at night. Got there late; still, Pier, the owner, drove out to greet me, showed me around, helped me settle in. Turned out to be the perfect host, solicitous yet non-obtrusive; e.g. he must have noticed me scrounging about for extra mid-sized firewood: next day, a saw appeared on the front porch; another time, seeing him tending to another unit on the property, I mentioned my regret at not inviting him over for refreshments because I'd run out of wine; next morning, he produced a home-bottled flask, an stupendous red... Price (October) was low enough for me to first think it might be a mistake (it wasn't); really got a bang for my buck.

Fully equipped house in this tiny, calm and silent village has fit our needs perfectly. We felt as at home, mainly thanks to the owner's good will and care (both exceptional), but also thanks to the place itself. We prolonged our stay at the device as we've felt so well. Also our dogs were accepted with a tolerance. The place is a good starting point to explore the beautiful nature around, probably all year round (we were there by the end of snow cover). We hope to come again.

This is one of the best places we ever stayed in. You get the whole house to yourself, all three floors and three balconies! You can have dinner on the balcony with fantastic views of the Alps. The hosts are just amazing. They went out of their way to make us feel welcome, provide information and ensure that we have the best time. They even gave us herbs from their garden and allowed us to borrow their mountain bikes. The house is spacious, very well equipped, spotlessly clean and very quiet. Valdieri is perfectly situated to explore a myriad of hiking trails. We enjoyed 6 to 7 different hikes to amazing lakes or peaks but can think of dozens that we haven't done.
