We were a family of 9, 5 adults, 3 teenagers and a child seeing in the New Year in Iceland. Hrossholt is a fantastic property in a fairly remote location, but the views are spectacular. The house itself inside is very roomy and modern, as well as very warm with underfloor heating throughout. The kitchen is very well equipped with every facility you might need and the two bathrooms with their walk in showers, always had hot water with plenty of clean towels. The five bedrooms were spacious, the beds were comfy and there was sufficient hanging and cupboard space for clothes. Outside, the large hot tub proved to be a focal point most evenings and with no light pollution we saw in 2025 with an amazing display from the Aurora. I would thoroughly recommend this holiday home if you want an escape in a snowy paradise.

It was like a home away from home! An absolutely beautiful setting and so easy to head out to explore the area. It’s so easy to find. The house was fully equipped with all utensils to ensure self- catering was painless. The added bonus of a cupboard and shelf filled with oils and spices made life even easier. The beds were comfy. The rooms spacious. The shower hot. I cannot recommended Sodulsholt enough!

The house is beautiful with plenty of bedrooms, nice living room and kitchen, and two bathrooms. The kitchen was well equipped and the larger bathroom had a washer and dryer.
The setting is beautiful and we were able to explore Snaelfellness peninsula from there. No grocery store nearby, so grab some provisions in Reykjavik or Borgarnes on the way.
Great for families or large parties, holiday homes are privately owned accommodation, available for long or short-term rental. These homes are furnished and equipped with kitchen facilities for self-catering, although breakfast may be offered as an add-on. These properties have their own independent front door, which makes them different to apartments.
Excellent staff and service. Check in is allowed till 9.30pm you just have to call and inform the staff beforehand.
Rooms are extremely spacious and very clean. You have a nespresso machine and kettle.in room.
Heating is nothing short of perfection. Beds are clean and comfortable. Breakfast spread was superb.very many vegan and vegeterian options.

Rooms very clean and comfortable with a very good capsule coffee maker. Slight noise as other guests opened/closed doors at midnight but otherwise quiet. Liked the motel style room access so were free to come and go as you wish. Meal in the restaurant was excelent.
The rooms were very clean, modern, well designed and comfortable. Breakfast was great with a good variety of options. The staff was friendly and virtuous. The location was remote and excellent for northern light watching.
Spotless clean and comfortable house. very nicely furnished. Comfortable beds and nice common area. We loved staying there. The kitchen was very clean and well equipped and we were able to cook our own dinner. Also, very close by there is a nice specialty coffee place where you can enjoy a good coffee and breakfast if you don’t plan to cook breakfast.
