Great for families or large parties, vacation homes are privately owned accommodations, available for long or short-term rental. These homes are furnished and equipped with kitchen facilities, though breakfast might be offered as an add-on. These properties have their own independent front door, which makes them different than apartments.
Everything was as in pictures and description. Very clean, nice and comfortable place to stay. Check-in & check-out was very smooth. Host was very proactive and gave timely/useful instructions. Recommended to stay here and for sure will stay again next time.

Our cottage was quite big, with two separate rooms and a room in the attic - which was open/no doors. Besides that there was a common area with a small couch and table and a small kitchen with a dining table. We were traveling 5 people, so it was actually OK, but for more - it would be a little bit tight. There was also a great tarrace area, which we couldn't use due to the weather, but I can imagine it is great to sit there and eat outside. The beds were comfortable and we enjoyed our stay very much. Very clean and tidy.
The room and communal area are very clean, bright and easy to use. The staff were friendly and helpful. Parking was readily available and the food at breakfast was good. Beds were clean and comfortable. Overall it exceeded my expectations.
Great spot near "Cloister" and close to Mountain Biking at the Mountain Bike Farm. Great room, very, very clean and comfortable and what a peaceful sleep with the cool mountain air, Kitchen and shared spaces were awesome.
Staff are very friendly. There are 2 communal hot tubs u can use. I stayed in the guesthouse which has a couple of communal areas for cooking and sitting around. I paid 88 euro for a room. It is small and only suitable for a single person. It is well worth a stay. Very clean and warm.
Little bit difficult to recognize what is reception but once found, staff provided all necessary information and rest was easy. Room was clean and exactly as on photos. Fridge is only shared with other rooms in hallway as well as dishes (which were obviously not very clean). We forgot our bacon in fridge :( Breakfast was better than in many hotels I stayed in - really many meals to choose and all tasty. Guesthouse located about 15 minutes from Fjaðrárgljúfur and about 45 minutes from Svartifoss or Vatnajokull glacier tours.
