Great location, 15 minutes away from Borganes .
The house is perfect, it has everything you need for the perfect stay. The kitchen allows you to cook with ease, with the addition of the outside covered barbecue for cooking steaks/ lamb etc without setting off any fire alarms. All the essentials salt, pepper, spices, coffee, kitchen roll , sugar, etc etc were provided, with toilet roll, conditioner, shampoo, hand wash , body wash, etc which was a lovely surprise!
The bedrooms are very comfortable and the whole house is decorated to a high standard.
The hot tub is a jet spa which we used daily after a long day out. It’s perfect.
Having a cabin with bedroom and separate shower /wc means it’s also perfect for larger groups, as we were a party of 2 we had plenty of room.
The house has great facilities for washing/ drying and has a large TV if you feel compelled on stormy nights to watch a bit of television.
The icing on the cake is the location for northern lights, having a great 360 view without interruption means you’ve got the best chances. Out of 12 nights we luckily managed to see 10 nights/ mornings despite some very challenging weather in November. We didn’t need to drive out, we just happily sat wrapped up under the covered deck and waited for Aurora to appear. There is a main deck which has a sheltered covered area which is perfect, then a lower deck for the cabin, a base deck in the garden and to the side a grass garden area. Very nice garden furniture and a picnic table for warmer days!
The road to the house is a little pitted in winter but nothing crazy just drive carefully. We tend to have 4X4 or AWD car in November as the roads to tend to wear in winter.
The location is perfect for driving up the west coast and north. The host was lovely and very accommodating. I would not hesitate to stay at Lundur again and the other properties on the portfolio.

It is a beautiful cabin in the west side of the island. For those looking for adventure and trying in touch with some nature, this might be it. We had some wine inside the hot tub and saw the sunset. Is a small cabin, where the spaces are separated (main house kitchen, toilet and living) and (room with 1 double and a bunk bed). Very clean and updated. Big room. Easily accessible for all. The restaurant only offered chicken soup when we arrived late but it was on a buffet with breads and chocolate cake. Delicious.
The inside is very clean and tidy. It was spotless! It seemed new and well taken care of. It felt well loved! It also had personality with unique paint colors and design in the bathroom and bedroom— very pretty. The beds were very comfortable. The view was great! It was exactly as pictured and the location was convenient for our travels. It was priced appropriately. We enjoyed our stay here.
We were given an upgrade to a cabin which was exceptional - to be by the sea alongside mountains was simply extraordinary. Very cosy feel. And definitely don't be put off by the fact this is a "1 Star" hotel. It's far from it. The room was very clean, the hot showers worked perfectly and we had everything we needed.
The accommodation is perfectly located, very clean. The view is beautiful. Late arrivals are also very well organized. Very good communication with the host! Very good value for money. Everything went perfectly.
