The little house is decent for families and we had everything we needed, up to our own washing machine, if needed. Our group of 4 really enjoyed the location - very quiet, off the beaten track with superlative views of Hekla, a river winding along the back of the property and Icelandic horses to pet. In addition very conveniently placed as an entry point into the Highlands. This is what appealed to me enough to book in the first place.

My family and I were impressed with the beautiful scenery that surrounds the property. We were also impressed with the quality of equipment that was available eg. washing machine and drier, well equipped kitchen. furniture, BBQ and hot tub. Our grandchildren loved the horses right outside the property and the trampoline. The hosts family even let our granddaughter ride one of their horses which really made her day! At the end of the path, towards the main road you can take a lovely stroll down to a lake too. We hired a car as we were visiting family who lived in Selfoss town, which was approximately a 35 minute drive away and Reykjavik was approximately 1 hours drive. I would definitely recommend staying at this beautiful home surrounded by nature as it is central to all the sightseeing places to visit like the Golden Circle and various waterfalls etc.

The cottage is quite secluded, it has a nice playground for the kids next to it. It is very wel furnished and the kitchen has a lot of basics included that cannot be found in many other cottages (herbs, salt etc.). It is clean and very comfortable and the hot pool is nice.
Great for families or large parties, holiday homes are privately owned accommodation, available for long or short-term rental. These homes are furnished and equipped with kitchen facilities for self-catering, although breakfast may be offered as an add-on. These properties have their own independent front door, which makes them different to apartments.
The two cabins are located in a quiet area with a beautiful view. The interior was as described, we did not miss anything. Everything was very clean and we felt very comfortable. The host even came by personally to bring the receipt and we had a nice chat. Check-in was via a key box and super easy. Also using the hottub was very uncomplicated. We would definitely come back again and stay here!
