It is a cool experience and you can see the stars right from the bed on a clear night. There were curtains also that you can close inside the igloo for privacy that surrounds the inside. You don’t see that in any of the pictures but you are not exposed like the pictures show. We drew the curtains behind the bed and to the sides but kept the curtains open facing the field so we could see the sun go down and the horizon which was a nice view.

We had a wonderful stay at Askot Cottages. It is a beautifully designed and super cozy cottage. The hosts really thought of everything, such as a selection of tea and coffee, salt, pepper, sugar and oil, games, body lotion, plenty of towels, a drying rack to dry your clothes if wet from the rain and there is even a laundry machine with detergent. We stayed four nights to have plenty of time to explore the many sights in the area and to slow down, relax, and enjoy this beautiful place.

It's located right next to the Caves of Hella. The people who worked in the caves do not own this house, but they helped us more than once when we got stuck in the snow while in the driveway. We adore them. But there are lots of other, better places nearby. Skip this one.

The bed was very comfortable. The view was also very nice and peaceful. The location was excellent to get to Selfoss and for a day trip to the highlands. There was free parking as well. The three dogs on site were very friendly. The kitchen was serviceable to allow us to prepare breakfast and even a couple of dinners.

This place is amazing! Honestly the pictures do not do it justice. The place feels like you are the first one to live there since it was built. The kitchen is fully stocked, the bed is very comfortable, and bonus, the bathroom floor is heated. We could have stayed here for a week or longer. Add in very frendly cats and a barn to visit tons of horses, and it is basically a perfect place to be. Highly recommend for anyone who wants to see the Golden Circle but not stay in the capital.

We're very happy with our stay. Would recommend the cabin to everyone looking to stay in a quiet and peaceful place in the countryside with gorgeous views. Host is amazing - kind, responsive and welcoming.
Keep in mind that the place is on a farm, out of town, so you can't expect city life there. Also, the room with the twin beds is accessible by a wooden ladder. It's solid and stable, easily supports adults, but not suitable for people with limited mobility.
Great for families or large parties, vacation homes are privately owned accommodations, available for long or short-term rental. These homes are furnished and equipped with kitchen facilities, though breakfast might be offered as an add-on. These properties have their own independent front door, which makes them different than apartments.
Perfect location for visiting Golden Circkle and South Cost! The guesthouse is located ~1h drive from Reykjavik between Selfoss and Hella just 2-3 min drive from main road. Location is secluded enough to see northern lights yet not too far away from towns.
Guesthouse is in rustic style, cozy, warm and very clean. Hosts were nice, welcoming and easy to reach.
