Hostess and owner Geraldine, also called "Boots", was so gracious, kind, and attentive. We would go back just to spend more time with her. Since our trip was in honor of our father whose days are numbered, the Balsoon Lodge was a welcoming and safe respite. The home, decor, and grounds were top notch.

Everything! The cottage is over 200 years old and is located on a small farm with lots of animals. The hostess was amazing. She was very knowledgeable, friendly, helpful, interesting and all around awesome. She went above and beyond to make sure our stay was wonderful. I was able to bottle feed a lamb and we collected fresh eggs from the hens for breakfast. We enjoyed the cottage and estate so much, we cancelled some of our plans to chill at the cottage. We hope to return in the future with extended family and rent both cottages.

Staff was friendly, I think there may have been some cultural differences between US and Ireland as encountered at multiple locations in ireland had to flag down staff to get refills on coffee, request additional items. Food and drinks were good but very expensive, we stayed in lodges and had access to small refrigerator, microwave, stove, kettle and washer which was nice. Spa experience in the leisure center was great, best I've had, price was reasonable for what you got.
