High ceilings incredible view

The place is in a beatiful place in the middle of Ikaria mountains and Mike is a very kind host!

Very clean and nicely renovated home. Xanthoula was very friendly and helpful. Kitchen nicely equipped. Lots of greenery on the road side of the veranda to provide privacy and shade. Some noise from the road from people and some cars passing by. But it was nice to watch and no problem at bedtime as traffic became very rare and the closed window allowed a good night's rest. Property very close to everything.

We liked that it was on top of another property, with a breeze, view, and several decks. We arrived to a fridge full of yummy food. The best honey i have ever tasted. The owner of the property was away, but was always available by text and his family did a wonderful job of anticipating our needs. On our first night, there was a 1000 person wedding in the square, which lasted until 8am the next day. We were invited, and the family made sure to seat us with English speaking locals. We lasted until 2am. There were several other late night celebrations in the square during our six night stay. It was the end of August, so I think September is quieter. Luckily the windows are soundproof when locked.

Very nice house

Our family really enjoyed staying in this beautiful wee traditional stone house. It was very different from what I expected, but once I had adjusted it was special. I think if we were Greek we would have understood the listing better and what a traditional stone house is. I'll lay it out for other foreigners. It is 4 separated rooms. They all open onto the central stone courtyard, but not to each other. You go outside to the courtyard to get to each different room. The biggest room has a bedroom with queen bed, then a stone opening (no door to shut) to a small room with a couch/bed and a small table. Then there is a second bedroom, quite like a monk cell, with one glassed door to let light in, no window. A little stone kitchen. And a separate cubicle with shower toilet and washing machine. Like each room you need to walk outside to the toilet. The whole place is rustic and charming. My 12 year old son was in heaven. His favourite place we have stayed. There was a hammock, grapes growing above the courtyard, kittens, blue skies and privacy. The table is a large entire slab of slate. All whitewashed. With a family member sleeping in every room there wasn't separate living space. So we ended up living outside in the courtyard, which was a pleasure for our family. My husband was working remotely at very strange hours and he also worked outside on the slate table and liked his "office". If you were a couple you would have space spare. It was the quietest place I have slept in many many years. Quiet goat bells, cicadas, deep stone walls, silence. I slept well. Ear plugs for the rooster! The bedrooms were neat as pins and prettily set up. The kitchen is rustic and cute. It's small but works well. Bathroom is small and practical. It is listed as having a bath, there is no bath. Really appreciated the washing machine. It as listed as having air con, there is none.

Stayed at Chálari with my family for 5 days. Location was perfect! 5 minutes by car from Christos (the coolest village in the whole island). Very close to the best beaches, restaurants and vineyards. The apartment has everything you might need. The owners were the friendliest short term 'landlords' we ever had. The view and the outside area were like a dream. Would recommend this place to everyone.
