We loved the view of chalet no. 4. You could see the Italian chapel. The place is extremely clean and has all the utensils needed for self catering. It is very comfortable with parking outside its door for 1 car. A coffee shop has just opened this week - Celina Rupp Jewellery - 1 minute walk from chalet - very handy with great carrot cake! Easy drive to Kirkwall in 10 minutes.

Ronnie was attentive and super helpful with directions, area recommendations. Beautiful garden for kids to play, well equipped kitchen, close to ferry at St. Margaret’s Hope. Lots of information to refer to in the cottage re: the area! Lovely updated bathroom and laundry room!

The house is well-equipped, very clean, and on a quiet street. The pint of milk, cheese, and oat cakes were appreciated. Although on the very edge of Kirkwall -- and an easy walk to Scapa beach -- it is a very pleasant ten to fifteen minute walk to St Magnus Cathedral, the Orkney Museum, and Judith Glue's excellent cafe and shop, all highly recommended. Buses to Stromness, the Ring of Brodgar, Skara Brae, the Italian chapel etc. were easily accessible a few minutes away.

Kitchen was large and very well equipped. House was warm all the time with radiators coming on automatically. Lounge spacious and comfortable.

The chalet was bright and welcoming and very clean. It was good to be greeted by a member of staff the day after our arrival to make sure we were ok. We enjoyed the view of the Churchill barriers and Italian Chapel and being able to bird watch from the window. It is quite close to Kirkwall and we can recommend the ice-cream shop next to the cathedral! It's a good idea to book ferries for day trips to other islands before you begin your holiday as they get booked up very quickly.
