It was a good place to stay with 2 children having separate bedrooms with a comfy enough lounge area. The kitchen facilities were great for catering for a young family although the oven did need cleaning out before use.

Jon was a great host. The rural setting and local pub were excellent. A reasonably easy journey by car into Durham and to the Living Museum in Beamish:a must see. We will definitely be back and look forward to seeing more of County Durham.

What a lovely place to stay! The service was exceptional, the hostess was amazing, nothing was too much trouble! We were provided with fresh bread and milk on arrival, the kitchen was fully stocked with tea/coffee etc and even had an iPhone charger there (which was a god send as we had forgotten our own)!. We were given information about the area on arrival including good places to eat (the Italian restaurant round the corner was fabulous). We will definitely be back again, fabulous little place!

The lambton .was very clean . The bed was very comfortable. Excellent sleep .lovely hot breakfast with a choice of items .staff friendly and very helpful finding us a fan for our room .The bar had plenty of alcohol to offer

The castle was lovely with beautiful grounds. The bar and restaurant staff were very attentive and friendly. The food was excellent. The bed was like sleeping on a marshmallow, so comfortable. Everything was very clean.
Easy to find, good location and easy parking. The evening meals were good value and the menu varied.
Our room had been recently decorated and was very clean, although they might regret using plain carpets, there were already some coffee stains.
