Well located, perfectly set out, great facilities including TV streaming and fast wi fi -- essential for the younger members of our party. Great touches too -- chilled water, biscuits, coffee and tea for our arrival, loads of local information. Immaculate too. Log burner wasn't necessary for our summer stay but would be great in cooler weather. Host was really helpful prior to our arrival.

Where to begin? Ah. On arrival we were greeted with flowers, a bottle of wine, and lemon drizzle cake. This is the most comfortable and inviting place we have stayed in. It is spacious, warm, and felt like home. Nothing is lacking. The house is in town and along the historic trail, and yet very quiet. The hosts are lovely people and very helpful. We highly recommend staying here.

Such a comfortable cottage in a wonderful location, very close to the harbour wall and to the old town. The cottage was very well equipped with everything you could want and the double bed was comfy (not too soft for my bad back and not too hard for my bad hips - just right!). The owner was extremely welcoming and kind, offering his help if we ever needed it. He couldn't have done more. There's parking on the road outside or in a free car park at the back of the property, which always had spaces available. The area was quiet.
We had the joy of seeing a pod of dolphin for about half an hour from the pier (near the lighthouse). Holy Island is only a short drive away and we took the train to Edinburgh for a day's visit. Would thoroughly recommend Oil Mill Lane Cottage.

Lovely property. Very clean and well equipped with everything we needed. It was very spacious and all the rooms had lovely furnishings. All the beds were comfortable. The garden was fabulous and we loved spending time in the garden in the sun. The property was cosy and warm.
The location of this cottage is second to none, with it's outstanding views out to sea literally yards across the road. The cottage is well equipped and very clean and the villagers were friendly and welcoming. Access to the surrounding areas was easy and always lovely to return to the cottage after a day exploring.
