The Quay, hotel in Alfriston

The Quay is located in Newhaven, 13 km from Brighton Marina, 15 km from Glyndebourne Opera House, and 15 km from Brighton Pier.

For a mature woman traveling alone I recommend this room. It is a 5 minute taxi drive from the port. Claudia met me at the door even though I arrived quite late. She is a very friendly host and made me feel right at home. The place is extremely clean, the room is super quiet and the bed very comfortable. There is a big screen set up for Netflix though I was too tired to take much advantage of it! Claudia also recommends local restaurants and directed me to a fantastic breakfast cafe the next morning.

The grounds are absolutely lovely and well looked after. The hotel backs on to National Trust land so perfect for walkers. Very beautiful in the morning. The outdoor pool is a real bonus. We appreciated the dressing gowns and pool towels. The public spaces are sumptuous and very clean. We ate breakfast - which was excellent - in the bar overlooking the garden.
