This is a fantastic and beautiful property, Jean-Philippe and his wife were excellent hosts providing us with recommendations in the local area to visit and eat. You can buy wine stored in their own personal cave which was a touch making the stay even more special. We were even invited to join the hosts and their friends for apéritif’s and a glass of wine to celebrate his wife’s birthday.
The property has a wonderful pool to use as you wish, with showers and toilet access just next to it. The gite was spacious with ample room for us and a kitchen. Our daughter loved the games room where we played ping pong and games every night with her.
The area is very close to Saumur along with other attractions such as local chateau’s. The guidebook the hosts have created is fantastic and is well worth following.

Great for families or large parties, holiday homes are privately owned accommodation, available for long or short-term rental. These homes are furnished and equipped with kitchen facilities for self-catering, although breakfast may be offered as an add-on. These properties have their own independent front door, which makes them different to apartments.
Lovely setting, all very clean. We would have loved to eat at the Michelin* restaurant but it was full. I advise others to book in advance.
The local town, however, has great eating places and there is a good atmosphere. It’s just a short walk from the abbey.
The rooms were lovely and spacious. They were very clean and the shower had decent pressure. The restaurant on site provided us with a delicious meal. Breakfast the next morning was also very good.
