The home is located in a small town in the Black Forest. Multiple hiking trails connect to other hiking trails in the immediate vicinity, and there are many paths back to the village. The host was absolutely wonderful and showed us everything we needed to know about the home. The house itself was huge. A few restaurant options are a short drive away, including the not-to-be-missed Kalte Herberge serving traditional southern German fare with warm and friendly service! More options and grocery stores are in Furtwangen, a 14-minute drive away. If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle for a few days or a few weeks, the Altes Pfarrhaus should be on your itinerary.

Very nice family-run hotel with helpful and friendly staff. We stayed in the recently new-built apartments, so everything was new and functioned very well (airco, wifi, good bed) and very clean. We rented electric mountain-bikes from the hotel. The breakfast was good and the diner was excellent.
