We needed an apartment for 2 weeks and searched for a "home like"-place. This was definitely it! There are all the facilities, you would need for a longer stay; kitchenware and equipment, laundry machine and TV with Netflix :)
Place is well kept and everything is clean and proper.
Location is a bit off from the citycenter but this was a plus for us, as we traveled with a dog. There's plenty of nature and parks close to the apartment and the Rhein-riverbank is close as well. Citycenter is easily achievable by a tram (appr. 15 min ride and they go very often). There's a bakery and a supermarket in walking distance.
The owner gave us very good instructions on how to arrive and function on the premises as well as a ton of useful tips for our stay in Karlsruhe.
We really enjoyed our stay and happily recommend this apartment for other travelers as well :)

We had a fantastic stay at Villa Johanna in May for 5 days while attending an event in Karlsruhe. The house had a welcoming entrance with space to remove shoes. It had two levels - downstairs featured a home gym, sauna, rain shower, cold water pipe, and a WC. Outside, the terrace provided breathtaking views of the Black Forest and had a swing to enjoy Bad Herrenalb's beauty. Upstairs, there was a room for two, a bathroom, kitchen, and a spacious living room with a large TV. On the first floor, three rooms accommodated six people, with a gallery area containing an antique desk, a chaise longue, and a balcony. The master bathroom had a large bathtub and a WC. Another stair led to a room under the roof with toys, books, and a balcony. The surroundings were serene, with a nearby river, meadows, and views of the Black Forest. There were convenient dining options, including a tasty Greek restaurant, as well as a supermarket and drugstore nearby. The owners' attention to detail was evident, from the fully equipped kitchen to a set of towels for each guest. The villa was worth the money, exceptionally clean, and provided a relaxing experience. We plan to return next year!

Great for families or large parties, holiday homes are privately owned accommodation, available for long or short-term rental. These homes are furnished and equipped with kitchen facilities for self-catering, although breakfast may be offered as an add-on. These properties have their own independent front door, which makes them different to apartments.
We did not meet anyone, but the check-in was perfectly organised and communicated.
The room is close to the city center, in a quiet area and house. Close to it several bakeries and shops.

The room was very clean and comfortable. Localization was perfect, 15-20 minutes to our every "must have to visit", the breakfast was good as usual in that kind of hotels. We were very content about the tea and coffee in our room. Also the other guests were very kind.
It was hard to find the place and at first i didnt know if it was even a hotel I was walking into, very shady and cluttered little hallway. The cubes are nice and a fun stay to try out for that price, and the bed was actually cute good. I avoided using the facilities as they were not very clean, and it was not made clear to me where to get a towel and there was no one to be found to ask. All in all it was an okay stay, nice and quiet which was what i needed.
The staff were warm and welcoming, attentive to our requests. The room was very clean and spacious, it had all the amenities you would expect from a 4-star hotel. The bathroom was new, spacious and well-lit. There were plenty of options in the breakfast buffet, with coffee, eggs and other delicacies made on demand as well! The garage had plenty of parking places fitting our mid-sized car, with controlled entrance to keep it safe overnight.
