A lovely home - you get the whole of the top floor - with an amazing view. Two bedrooms, a well-equipped kitchen (with chocolate and wine from the lovely host on arrival), a modern, very clean bathroom and a living room with a view over the valley. It was very comfortable, the host was available if needed, and willing to deal with our entirely inadequate German! Absolute gem in a lovely location - as long as you don't mind hairpin bends....
Fab central place for exploring Zermatt, Saas Fee and the Aletsch, with good transport links including gondolas. Highly recommend.
Featuring garden views, Chalet Charming offers accommodation with a garden and a patio, around 24 km from Zermatt Railway Station.

A cool location. The area and surroundings are great. You can also enjoy the privacy. No problem communicating with the host, only on the phone but it is enough. Everything was in order as a whole.

We had such an amazing time at an apartment in Grachen and decided to stay in Switzerland longer and found Residenz Edelweiss. We booked and sent the money via bank transfer.
On what should have been a short few hour journey turned into a nightmare day/night because we got lost with four children.
I contacted the host to let them know that we were running behind and were lost and struggling to get a taxi. I messaged on booking.com as I was struggling with my Internet connection and could not find a direct number to call. I've never had any issues using the booking.com services. Hotels/apartments/hostels usually respond. I sent a few messages and did not receive a single response.
We had originally expected to arrive at 4 pm. However, it was closer to midnight. It was pitch black, we were in an area we did not know and we had no idea which apartment we were staying in. We knocked on a few doors, but nobody seemed to be able to help. The laundry door (fortunately for us) was wide open, so we we went in there to get out of the cold and dark. I had a 14, 12, 7, and 1 year old baby with me.
We found a number online and called it over and over again, we emailed and messaged. We tried to order a taxi and stay elsewhere but we could not get a taxi or hotel. We had no choice but to stay in the laundry room. We did continue to call the number we found online, and eventually, somebody in Germany answered and said that they would try to reach a member of staff.
At roughly 7am, x2 women came to the laundry room. Both were very rude. One in particular was very aggressive and hostile. She was shouting over my exhasted children.
The woman claimed we had made a mess in the laundry room, but this was untrue. She was just annoyed that we were in the laundry room.
We left the laundry room as we found it. I did lay some mats for my children to sleep on, and I used my own towels and blankets to keep them warm. Me using these mats really annoyed the women.
