We loved staying at the quaint little ‘Ofenhaus’!
It was everything we expected, based on the Booking.com description, and maybe even a bit better. :)
The cleanliness was exemplary! I really am quite exacting concerning hygiene — and this place was literally spotless!
The whole place smelt of fresh laundry when we walked in — it really doesn’t get any better than that!
The water temperature and pressure in the shower are great!
Since both my husband & I have long, luxurious hair, this is a crucial point for us. Many holidays have been ruined, alas, because of bad (cold, weak) showers — but not at the ‘Ofenhaus’!
Everything works to perfection!
The location is really quiet & calm, but the beautiful medieval town of Murten can be reached on foot (via a short walk of 1km).
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and would definitely book the ‘Ofenhaus’ again if we happened to stay in the area in the future!

The house has a nice layout & generally everything is well-looked after. At the entrance, there's a WC & central stairs, leading down to a laundry room & up to four bedrooms plus a bathroom. The living room has a sofa, TV, fireplace & large table. The kitchen is a good size with everything we needed, except a microwave. The house feels quite spacious. The living area has floor-ceiling windows/doors all around, the kitchen also has a door to the garden area, which goes around the house on three sides. Two bedrooms have a sliding, connecting door, a balcony & floor-ceiling windows overlooking the garden & local area; one wakes up to the sound of birds. There's a side-road in front, which has hardly any traffic. The area is peaceful, with some nicely renovated, historical houses. It's a short walk to the lake, where there's a small park, and from there a short walk to a Coop supermarket & then the old town. The train station is also walking distance.

The view from the villa is wonderful. The place is very clean. The bedrooms and the sitting room are spacious. The kitchen is well equipped with appliances, nearly all high tech. It is a good location to discover lots of areas around by car. The location is easy to find by GPS. To arrive and move around you need to be driving a car. The closest supermarket "Denner" satellite is about 10 mnts driving from location (reachable by car only). So you need grocery stock for few days.
We were there on New Year eve, we enjoyed beautiful firework al around the lack from the balcony.
Wonderful place, would like to revisit for relaxation.

Hosts adorable, fire super cute. Makes you want to grow old in such a cute place! Terrace marvelous, too bad we had a bit of fog on the lake so we couldn't enjoy the view in all its glory!

Great for families or large parties, holiday homes are privately owned accommodation, available for long or short-term rental. These homes are furnished and equipped with kitchen facilities for self-catering, although breakfast may be offered as an add-on. These properties have their own independent front door, which makes them different to apartments.
Great quiet location. Reception staff were very welcoming and friendly. Room was small but very comfortable and very clean. Parking was very close to the reception and checkout was very fast. Overall we would definitely come back for another stay.
Thai inspired deco in the rooms and around the hotel with wonderful restaurant - very clean, Zen and stylish - Buddha’s everywhere
