Gorgeous, private. Lovely friendly owner who obviously doesn’t know who he’s in bed with. We received confirmation of our stay from BOTH the property mgmt co and booking dot com 2 days prior.
Great for families or large parties, vacation homes are privately owned accommodations, available for long or short-term rental. These homes are furnished and equipped with kitchen facilities, though breakfast might be offered as an add-on. These properties have their own independent front door, which makes them different than apartments.
It was an old-school motel, probably built in the 60s or 70s, but well maintained, very clean and the guests were quiet. I must be getting old but I appreciated using the Lazyboy and watching NHL on TV. It was recently renovated and had a decent bathroom and a small kitchenette with a real stove. Quite nice really. I could stay there for a while.
Handy location in downtown Sidney, so about 10 minutes from the airport. Free parking, close walk to the oceanfront and grocery store. Very very clean, lots of pillows, nice bedding, comfortable beds. Decent spread for simple breakfast on the go. Very friendly and helpful staff, and excellent value for money spent (a room at the hotel across the street would have been double the cost of our room).
Elegantly furnished, holding true to the history of the building. I loved that it was in a quiet area, no traffic, just the harbor sounds. The breakfast was amazing, room amenities were lovely and it was very clean. The beds have fuzzy fleece blankets which I prefer to duvets. We were thrilled with our stay, and will recommend to our Yukon friends as a nice Vancouver Island hideaway.
It is the cleaniness that makes the stay worthy. We booked a one bedroom suite and a studio. The two rooms were next to each other. Both rooms were very clean. Even though the furniture shows the age of the place, everything was clean, there was no dust on the windown sills or baseboard. There was no black mold buildups around the tap in the bathroom sink. They've done a great job keeping the rooms immaculate.
