We chose the premises mainly for its location. Keep in mind that the premises are a holiday house/shack and not a hotel/motel. The premises truly are a "retreat" or what could be called an "escape" - they are on a bushland property at a semi-remote site some 20 minutes drive from the town of Portland in Victoria which is the nearest source for shopping and supplies. One attraction is that the premises are a small acreage "farm" which has over 40 resident kangaroos - but which are very timid and wary of any close contact.
Great for families or large parties, holiday homes are privately owned accommodation, available for long or short-term rental. These homes are furnished and equipped with kitchen facilities for self-catering, although breakfast may be offered as an add-on. These properties have their own independent front door, which makes them different to apartments.

This place is so beautiful and Nicki is a great host. The room is modern, very clean and the large bed was comfy, I am gluten and dairy intolerant, so I thought I need to bring my own food. But Nicki catered to my needs and provided suitable food for our continental breakfast! What a treat! We really enjoyed staying at Whale Escape and we will definitely stay there again. Highly recommended!
Was very clean, amazing location, everything we needed was there including breakfast items. Was cosy once we lit the fire and had heat pump going, bed very comfy and shower good.
This is a beautiful bed and breakfast that is close enough to the beach and hight street that ypu can walk but tucked away enough that it is quiet. Very welcoming and warm with lots of room and very clean. The breakfast was great and the easy access to tea and coffee was nice. My husband and I sat in front of the toasty fire place one evening, which was lovely.
