A clean little sanctuary up in the mountains! A nice spaced room and bathroom, windows that look out onto the village and mountain and a full, big kitchen. Everything was exceptionally clean, I could stay here and recharge for weeks!

Located in the centre of Manteigas, Casa D’Avenida is a newly renovated family house, sited within the Serra da Estrela Natural Park. The host is exceptionally kind, generous and attentive and went out of her way to make sure I had everything I needed. I felt really taken care of. The breakfast was very satisfying, with freshly squeezed juice and locally grown vegetables.

Located at the foot of the Serra da Estrela mountain range, in the town of Manteigas, this hotel offers elegant rooms with free Wi-Fi. Free parking is possible on site. The hotel is easy to find, and within an easy walk of the town centre and local restaurants. The room was spotlessly clean and the beds had immaculate white cotton sheets. We were there for the start of the cold weather and the rooms were warm and plenty of hot water in the bathrooms. Breakfast was fantastic, lots of coffee, home made jams, local cheeses and cereals, just what you need before a good walk in the mountains.
