We stayed for two weeks in French Polynesia and in some fancy hotels. However, this place was by far the best in terms of feeling welcome and feeling the warmth of Polynesian people. The bungalow is super clean, modern and has a range of cooking facilities. The host prepared us some wonderful dinner for a very reasonable price that we enjoyed with a most beautiful view of Papeete. The host also picked us up at the airport and dropped us off again in the middle of the night for our flight home. It was just the perfect way of finishing our holiday.

We would not have survived our night if we had not booked accomodation, by the time we got to Carson’s place, we were exhausted and went to bed right away. It was a 10 minute drive from the airport, and was perfect for a sleep then catch the ferry in the morning. Carson is a great host, and called the taxi for us, we were very happy with the stay.

Taharu'u Guest House By The Beach is a recently renovated holiday home in Papara, where guests can make the most of its private beach area and garden. The directions were great, the place is lovely. When it got a little warm in the house in the afternoon and I asked for extra fans, Philippe immediately went to the store and bought two new ones in addition to the two that were already at the property. It was a lovely stay! The Tahaaru surf beach is nearby, about 5 min walk, but the beach right in front of the property has a bit of a current so you can swim there if you’re strong swimmer, but otherwise you may want to go to other beaches.

The property is non-smoking and is situated 200 metres from Toaroto Beach. David is a very friendly and responsive host and even provided laundry service which was for me as backpacker super important and gladly appreciated. The room was very clean, nicely decorated and equipped with 2 fans to cool down the place at night. The balcony is super nice with a table, mini Bar and a kitchen and fridge to cook for yourself. Would def. book again when I am back in Tahiti. Also really close to the beach which is accessible by a 2min foot walk. Also the check in instructions were very clear available in French and English.
