Chalet Karaka was absolutely delightful - a hidden gem, tucked away in a beautiful, tranquil bushy setting with a small picturesque stream running at the bottom of the garden. The shower was fantastic - excellent pressure with a lovely glass side looking out onto the private garden and stream. The room was spacious and well appointed and the icing on the cake was the generous outdoor undercover living area/deck complete with a Weber for all your barbecue requirements. Ngairie, our host, was friendly, welcoming and very helpful.

The place is aesthetically very unique, and looks unreal in person. Love the overhead lighting in the main room, small details like plants and pottery pieces. It offers plenty of outdoor seating area.

Everything including Jacqui who is a great personable host!!! The room is not a box, more like an octagon shape, very well decorated, very comfortable, very well appointed with plenty of windows for natural light. It feels like home, trust me. The property is also very well landscaped, peaceful and private. Very close to town, a few minutes away by foot or vehicle.

Situated in Mapua, 32 km from Christ Church Cathedral, Nelson and 33 km from Trafalgar Park, Private Guest Suite offers free bikes and air conditioning. 12+/10. Each and every aspect one could possibly think of - just marvelous. Better than the images, quiet and safe, spacious, comfortable bed, cleanest place in decades of travel history. Super nice hosts made sure we have all we need, so much attention to detail and a great start with coffee, milk, cereal, fruit etc. We would for sure check availability if back to the lovely region.
