Loved the room, balcony, and view of the river below. A great place to relax. Owner was very friendly and gave many recommendations of the area.

Featuring mountain views, Guesthouse boro-ya provides accommodation with a garden and a patio, around 50 km from Kōchi Station. Absolutely amazing place and location. The house is very special and made us feel like in the movies about Samurais:) It's a great experience to stay in such unique place. The house is spacious, spotless and very well equipped. Host Yancy is very nice and welcoming. I really recommend to buy green tea from his plantation as it's delicious and fragrant!! We were offered eggs from his hens and tried lemons which is the nicest I've ever had. The views were breathtaking at sunrise and sunset. The whole area is magical, just wish we could stay longer:( Will definitely come back if revisit Japan. Please bare in mind that it's a narrow and twisted drive up, so consider renting small car if you planning to drive in Shikoku mountains.

Situated in Shimanto-cho, EkimaehouseSamaru is a recently renovated accommodation, 13 km from Kaiyodo Hobby Museum Shimanto and 24 km from Monjudo Temple. It was a great location with great staff. He was very helpful. I just wish I could’ve stayed longer than one night.

Takao and Shie’s guesthouse is perfectly equipped for a self-catering stay in a remote rural area about an hour from Kochi city. They are wonderful friendly hosts and the accommodation is lovely. The toilets and bathroom are outside but are very clean and comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend it for anyone wanting to disconnect from the city vibe and just relax for a few days. Thank you Takao and Shie and good luck for October :-)

Situated just 38 km from Nishihama Park, Katsuo Guest House provides accommodation in Kochi with access to a garden, a shared lounge, as well as a shared kitchen. One of the best hostels I have been to in Japan. The staff were amazing, the place was comfortable and cosy and it had a really nice atmosphere throughout the whole stay. Have to mention that the owners were very helpful with anything I needed and were super friendly.

This is a private run hostel in a private property, run by a family. The members of this family are the nicest, not only did they pick me up at the trainsation on arrive l, but on the day of departure, they drove me all the way to Kochi and not to the closest trainstation 😯.
