Located in Cartago and only 11 km from Jardin Botanico Lankester, Dreams Lodge Orosi provides accommodation with mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking. This guest house offers accommodation with a balcony. La Sabana Metropolitan Park is 42 km from the guest house and Estadio Nacional de Costa Rica is 44 km away. We booked this lodge for the last 4 nights of our stay in Costarica, only as a place to sleep- as we planned to spend whole days out on excursions. We were actually sorry that we could not spend more time in the lodge itself. It has some lovely outdoor space where you can sit and relax. It also has a common kitchen which is very well equipped, so you can cook your meals there if you wish. There is also a swimming pool, but we did not use it as the weather was quite cold. Room was super clean and comfortable. We loved the local cat which was very friendly and liked to spend her time in the lodge :-) What makes absolute highlight of this lodge, is Ms. Jessica, who provided excellent service to us during our entire stay. She was always so nice and did lot more for us, than she had to! She also speaks very good English so we had no problems with communication. First morning, we ate breakfast in the lodge - the local Gallo Pinto. It was the best breakfast we had in the entire Costarica! Big portion and perfectly cooked and flavoured. You will love it! And the breakfast outdoor seating is very nice. For the rest of our mornings, we were actually leaving very early (around 5 am), and Jessica was so nice that she always prepared for us breakfast and left it in the fridge). If you have rented car, you can park it in front. You can also arrive by public bus (like we did), it is only around 5-10 minutes walk from the bus station. Just be careful, there is no signage with the hotel name, from the street it lookes like someone’s house. If you are at the entrance to the cemetery, you are already too far :-) search for black metal staircase - that is your place.
Orosí
Located in Orosí and only 11 km from Jardin Botanico Lankester, Montaña Linda Guest House Orosi provides accommodation with mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking. It is situated 13 km from Ujarras Ruins and features a shared kitchen. Featuring family rooms, this property also provides guests with a terrace. Superb. Montana Linda is a fantastic, friendly hostel. Orosi is a beautiful town in a breathtaking location. There is loads to do. If Don Peter is there, he'll give you the low-down on everything in Orosi.
Turrialba

Our host was very kind and very helpful. The location is beautiful and the room was quiet and comfortable.
The room was spacious and the view of Orosi was nice . The property is a bit quirky with lots of levels and many interesting outdoor spaces to use . For the most part it was quiet . The location was good and within easy walking distance of the small town of Orosi and it's amenities. The host was very sweet and tries very hard but the property did have a few issues.
Very friendly host he even brought us fresh fruits from their own mandarin tree.; They are located at a beautiful location.
Great hosts with a lot of advice of what to do in the area. And a really nice accomodation, super comfortable and clean. Coffee available in the room which we really liked.
Personal, quiet, very authentic place off the beaten track on the countryside in the middle of nature, with excellent home cooked meals, a very kind and attentive host who is a local and has many good stories to tell. The food served is creative, experimental and also feels like a home cooked meal from grandmother. The views off the finca into the valley are amazing. There are also hiking trails. We saw coatis and hummingbirds and other birds such as oropendolas. Best to have a 4WD. Costa Ricans also spend their holidays here.
I liked how easy the host made the experience of checking in. The place is nice, beautiful and isolated, perfect place to find quiet and peace.
Great location with most welcoming and friendly hosts. The cabin was nice - with an exceptional view directly from bed and the hammock. The pool is small but very refreshing and we even spot tucans in the morning.
Good option for those who love adventure and like to sleep in the middle of the jungle. We stayed only for one night. Meals were excelent. Before dinner they served us drinks and very nice appetizers . Staff was friendly. Arturo and Fernando were great hosts. We did rafting with them and the they surprised us with an incredible picnic.
Well equipped shared kitchen. Secured parking in the garage. Very friendly host. Comfy bed. Nice outdoor patio. Good location near the city centre. Very quiet.
