The guesthouse comprises several renovated traditional Bulgarian farm buildings set around a lovely central stone courtyard with gardens and seating areas. Our room was clean and large with a comfortable bed and a massive gleaming bathroom, complete with 2-person soaking tub and a functional American-style shower. All that was nice, but what we did not expect was the quality of the food. If you stay here, you MUST dine here, too. Seriously, the food is too good to miss, and this praise comes from a jaded foodie. The guesthouse hosts, Paul and Andrew, in addition to being fabulous people, are chef-quality meal designers. Local, seasonal, organic ingredients are masterfully prepared, and the Al fresco setting is simply wonderful. I can’t recommend this place highly enough. It’s in a great location near many natural wonders and attractions, it’s well-managed by passionate hosts, and then there’s the FOOD.
