The location was great and the area well worth a visit. The actual venue seemed run down and needed care, around a once beautiful and established garden. The feature of this venue was its walk in the indigenous forest, but the paths were so overgrown that one could not access them. A great pity. On arrival there was a poor reception, as if we were not expected. The room was comfortable, but for me, why the bed so high? (Elderly people would need some steps to get access). The once stately home, now run down and seems not sure if it should be a B&B or just a family home. Although there was a possibility to order breakfast beforehand, I doubt if they were able or even willing to offer breakfast. As an advertised B&B one would expect that even a basic breakfast should be available on request (if there was even someone available to ask). The bare basics were presented in our room but there was nothing special, to even make us feel that the "management" wanted us to tell all our friends to also make a booking and enjoy this potentially wonderful venue.

The house is cozy and clean. It is right next to the river. Beautiful scenery lovely nature and the best place to relax.
It was cold and rainy when we were there, but we enjoyed every moment.
Would recommend to anyone looking to escape the busy buzz, just down the road.
Kids could canoe and fish and my toddler loved Nugget (the jackrussel)
I truly hope that Dee and her pretty boat house get the exposure it deserves.
Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travellers who prefer unfussy accommodation with a personal touch. They are usually family-run, and your host will provide local recommendations and optional meals. Often cheaper than regular hotels, guest houses can also feature a cosy living room and a garden.
Tanya is the best host, from the time I booked. We left early to run the marathon and when we came back our room was already cleaned and freshened up.Thank you Tanya you are the best. The room was beautiful.
Quiet , safe , peaceful away from the maddening crowds next to a stunning flowing river was like a family away from the family
Owner are so accommodating
The hosts Sean, Tanya and family were exceptional in making our stay memorable. Accommodations were as described, cozy, comfortable, and in a great location.
Great food (we enjoyed breakfast and dinner at Hawklee), great hosts and staff, and my wife's and my new favorite getaway in the Midlands. A chance to enjoy nature... make sure you take a river walk.
