Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travelers who prefer laid-back accommodations with a personal touch. Usually family run, these hosts will provide local recommendations and even optional meals. Guest houses sometimes feature a cozy living room or a garden – and are still cheaper than most regular hotels.
A wonderful old farm house that was comfortable and quiet.
The host and hostess were very accommodating and tried their best to make our stay comfortable.
The vegan breakfast they provided was excellent.
Wendy is such a great host, she checked on us trough out the day on our way. The electric blanket helped so much as it was cold. Breakfast was the best.
We were on our way to Johannesburg. Therefore Bethulie was a little out of our way. When we arrived at the Guest House we realised the extra trip was worth our while. The setting is beautiful. Quiet and peaceful. A beautiful guest house with so much charm and history. Our dinner was tasteful and well prepared. Served with care. The breakfast was tasteful ... we had breakfast with lovely people sharing the guest house for that day. If ever we have to travel this way again, we will with pleasure stop over at this guest house.
Beautiful location off the beater path. The old world charm of the house cannot be beaten and Alex is a great host who went out of his way to cater for our every need.
a gem in the middle of nowhere. a place oozing with history. warm welcome, great relaxed yet upmarket atmosphere, great location, stunning interior, the nicest people around and a host, Alex, who cannot be any nicer, more helpful and more of a local guide than the great guy he is. as great and wonderful as the estate is, Alex is the heart of it. Bethulie is a place worth visiting and the Guestfarm the perfect place to stay.
Such a charming place! The rose garden and lavender is really like an oasis! Fantastic host, very friendly and helpful! Great breakfast in the garden, surrounded by hundreds of roses in full bloom! Beautiful antique furmiture. We stayed in the house - the cottage was already booked. Remember to go have a look at the longest bridge in Southern hemisphere in Bethulie! Sincerely recommended!
