Avoca River Cabins, hotel in Addo

Set on a citrus farm on the banks of the Sundays River, Avoca River Cabins offers game drives, 2 outdoor swimming pools, a children’s playground and conference and wedding facilities.

We had a wonderful stay in one of the river chalets. The kids loved the playground and swimming pool, and we enjoyed canoeing on the river and going for a stroll through the orchards. The location is perfect for visiting Addo National Park and for exploring the surrounding area. It is such a lovely place, would definitely recommend it and we hope to return in future.

The stillness of the location is such a rare treat! The lady that checked us in was friendly and helpful despite being at the end of her pregnancy in this heat which is very impressive :-) The shower was awesome and we were pleasantly surprised with how equipped the kitchenette is

Nukakamma Guest House, hotel in Addo

Nukakamma Guest House is located in Colchester, just 4 km from the South Entrance to Addo Elephant Park. It offers free BBQ facilities and a shared lounge area.

Host gave us loads of instructions and even live directions of where to find animals at Addo. She also generously allowed us to make our own breakfast with the items on the fridge to make sure we could arrive early at the park gate. The bed was amazing! We saw cheeky vervet monkeys from the viewing deck :)

Our stay at Silos was just perfect - the room was spacious, well-equipped (even with a heating function for the bed), clean, with a very nice terrace and cozy. The garden of the guesthouse is beautiful and the citrus farm surrounding invites for walks or jogging. The host Kyla is the nicest host we have ever had and did everything to make us feel at home! We also did 3 safaris (full day, morning and sunrise) which were just amazing with the guides Ronnie jr. and Thomas - big recommendation doing them! We would definitely come back!

Second time we stayed here. We were greeted by the very friendly hosts upon arrival, who explained everything we needed to know and more. We were welcomed with some nice treats such as home made cookies and bread, and honey from the farm. Location of the house is very quiet and fully surrounded by nature. It's a very spacious house, it has large bedrooms with comfortable beds, more than enough bathrooms and a fully equipped kitchen. This is the perfect stay when visiting the Addo region.

Beautiful Guesthouse with a wonderful garden, perfect for a Addo Elephant Park visit. We loved the breakfast. The host family was so helpful and caring. We’d recommend staying at Gerald’s when visiting this area. Make sure, to follow the directions at Gerald’s website when coming from Port Elizabeth Airport or from anywhere else to the guest house. Don’t rely on Google maps.
