Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travellers who prefer unfussy accommodation with a personal touch. They are usually family-run, and your host will provide local recommendations and optional meals. Often cheaper than regular hotels, guest houses can also feature a cosy living room and a garden.
Pomelo is a great little Homestay and Toni was a great host. Rooms were basic but comfortable and had everything we needed for an overnight stay. Lovely pool to cool off in after a days trek through the caves. Breakfast was included. Toni organised our pickup from Dong Hoi, cave tour and our DMZ tour transfer through to Hue. Pomelo is a little further out of the main town but lovely and quiet, with plenty of restaurant options nearby.
It was at a quiet spot and the property had its own restaurant with amazing view and cheap food. And the most kind welcoming and helpful host we have experienced on our trip so far.
Great location and lovely host, always on hand to help! Comfy bed and good A/C. Yummy breakfast (not included in price which we didn’t realise, but was very cheap and tasty, so totally worth it).
Great host who sorted everything we needed. He drive us in and out of town free of charge, had scooters ready for us etc.
This is good value for money as it’s very cheap.
Host Tien could not have been more helpful. He organised everything for us. Transfers, bus tickets and tours. He even drove us to town at 03:30 for an onward connection!
Food was delicious and the guesthouse was quiet and peaceful, overlooking the river.
We had a great experience at Tuan Garden house. Hung and his family were great hosts, we had a medical emergency and they went above and beyond to help us. Great location and room, would definitely return.
Very friendly host family. Helpful and knowledgeable, nothing was too much trouble. Great location, off the main road, so a bit quieter. Garden is very pretty.
Delicious home cooking - we especially enjoyed the fantastic coffee and banana pancakes!
Great host and great location! The host thought us how to drive a scooter and was very helpful with planing our trip
