The location is within walking distance (2 km) from Tres Cruces busterminal and not too far from the old city. By Uruguyan standards the price is fair. The facilities are not state of the art, but everything including Wifi functioned. Staff is friendly. Security is okay.

Not much to say about this place other than how nice it is. Great staff, best deal on a room in the area. Super quiet. Access to kitchen. All around a winner.

Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travellers who prefer unfussy accommodation with a personal touch. They are usually family-run, and your host will provide local recommendations and optional meals. Often cheaper than regular hotels, guest houses can also feature a cosy living room and a garden.
What makes this hostel great is its great location in the old city, the friendly people, comfortable shared spaces kitchen, terrass and living room. It is especially lovely and highly recommended for people that are interested in living vegan, and gives them a great space to relax and reflect.
Great location, in the middle of everything but quiet. Extremely warm and friendly hosts! Made me feel very welcome, whilst also giving me my space. Also lots of tips for travel locations ect. The guy put the FA cup final on the TV for me without me asking, because my team was playing. Seems to be the best budget option in Montevideo.
Wonderful and charming hotel in the old town. Tastefully fitted out with mid century handpicked furniture, comfortable well appointed rooms. Host Jero was extremely helpful and friendly. Definitely recommend.
Clean and very home feel. Staff were super helpful! Nice facility and lots of separate little rooms with common area away from rooms so quiet when trying to sleep and others still up. Not a party hostel but set up to be very social and interactive
Great location and quiet area, a few minutes walking from the city center and close to supermarkets, restaurants and other spots such as bakeries, chemists, etc. Nice sea/river views from the terrace. Building with security and parking place available, which made our stay very comfortable and convenience.
Fauna Montevideo is a beautiful small boutique hotel. The interior is very stylish. The room was great with an extremely comfortable bed and a clean and modern bathroom.
Fresh fruit and Lavazza coffee is served in the lobby for free. Jeronimo is a perfect host: He is kind and helpful and his recommendations for restaurants and cafés were very good.
Beautiful, brand new, fully-equipped, one-bedroom apartment in a fantastic location within easy reach of both the lively city centre/cordón soho area with every convenience nearby and Montevideo's lovely city beaches. Javier, the landlord was a great host.
It is impossible to find a better option for this price in Montevideo:
- Bedroom: they are bigs, with A/C, and all beds with two sockets, small lamp and locker.
- Kitchen: big one, all equipped.
- Owner: Walter the owner is a really good host, he will help you in everthing you need.
- Location: just perfect, in the city center, close to the old town and to the bus station.
- Common aereas: there are ones, including a rooftop.
All in all, the place is cheap and it is difficult to find a negative point.
