We loved staying at the Hotel Sherman; this historic, boutique hotel knows its charm, and does everything right! To begin with, the location is ideal when visiting NYC for theater and good food! This block of W. 46th, between 8th and 9th Avenue, is in the heart of "Restaurant Row," close enough to Times Square to please younger family members, but just removed enough for a good night's sleep. An unexpected highlight for us: discovering a true NYC gem, Swing 46, right across the street! Additionally, one is near the best of the Hell's Kitchen area, (Can one get enough of Amy's Bread, the Amish Market, or Empanada Mama??) while Rockefeller Center is an easy short walk away as well. I have stayed in several different hotels in Manhattan over the years, and Hotel Sherman exceeded our expectations for location, indulgent comfort, excellent hospitality, and amenities. Private rooms were spacious and beautifully decorated, our beds were incredibly comfortable, our 4th floor view was fabulous, and we appreciated our access to the rooftop terrace and even having breakfast under an open sky view - yes, in January! I imagine a stay at the Hotel Sherman in warmer months would be even more enjoyable. Worth adding: the pubic spaces are gorgeous as well - I highly recommend having a drink at its bar, The Backstage Tavern. Perhaps the best comment is saved for last: warm and generous hospitality can make or break a hotel experience, and the staff - everyone we met - was absolutely lovely, attentive, and gracious. We will definitely return!

Overall, I am delighted with the accommodation. The owner is very easygoing, communicative, and available. The check-in and check-out process was smooth and straightforward. The building is very secure. I had my peace in the apartment, and everything you might need during your stay was available.

I did not have breakfast at the Lovely Room, walked over to Starbuck's. The room was exactly as described on booking.com. A lovely apartment with a very comfortable bedroom. The apartment was spotless. Easy to get to.
Perfect for what I needed.
Ideally located just 1 block from Central Park, The Central Park North offers free WiFi access. Columbia University is 1 mi away. All rooms have access to a shared bathroom.
Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travelers who prefer laid-back accommodations with a personal touch. Usually family run, these hosts will provide local recommendations and even optional meals. Guest houses sometimes feature a cozy living room or a garden – and are still cheaper than most regular hotels.
Sarah was a great host, the property was big, had all the facilities needed. Very clean and hygienic. Would definitely recommend to anyone. We felt very comfortable if anything was missing Sarah would make sure we had it straight away and gave us recommendations on how to get to NYC. So happy we stayed here!
Super friendly and dedicated host. Bathroom and kitchen were cleaned every day. Good wifi to work online (on one side of the appartment). Nice that you can use the common kitchen. Quiet neighborhood.

Very nice and cozy apartment, with private toilet, small kitchen and separate bedroom. Great location if you consider to stay out of manhattan, takes 20 min on the subway to reach World Trade Center (lower Manhattan 2,75 dollars). The host Marcelo was always available and answers very fast. I do recommend you Van Buren Gem 2.0
Great coffee shops near by, Portugal avenue, amazing food.
The host were so welcome. The overall atmosphere is cozy and detailed. The hosts were hospitable and very well prepared. My flight was very early and I went out as quietly as I could alone, but the owner's wife still came to walk me out the door and was so welcoming. The overall feeling was like being at home with warm tea and bed covers, and it felt like the whole place was healed. The rooms and the decor throughout the house are thoughtful and chic, and it's clear that the owners have taken care of them
Cecilia was an amazing host - quick to respond to messages and very welcoming. I booked this accommodation for the first night of my first ever visit to New York and it couldn't have been better. I arranged to be picked up by Cecilia from Newark airport for $15 as my flight arrived in the evening, and in the morning she helped me catch the 107 bus into the city. The fresh fruit and snacks she provided for guests were great, and the property was quiet - I slept well.
