Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travelers who prefer laid-back accommodations with a personal touch. Usually family run, these hosts will provide local recommendations and even optional meals. Guest houses sometimes feature a cozy living room or a garden – and are still cheaper than most regular hotels.
The location was central and quiet. The area was quaint with a museum close by. The manager really helped me out. I messed up the dates but she helped me and gave me a good rate for a great room. Very grateful for her help and we will definitely go back plus recommend them to anyone :)
The homeowner went above and beyond to make sure our stay was enjoyable. Appreciated the peace and quiet as we slept like babies.
Great location and will happily stay again.
Thank you Jim.
We felt at home, the hosts welcomed us like family and we had the opportunity to chat to them and to other guests in the kitchen/dining room and the sitting/TV room. Although the bedroom is a reasonable size and comfortable, the use of kitchen, dining room and sitting room makes one really feel at home
While we stayed an assortment.of food and drinks were provided.
Interesting house in nice neighbourhood full of historic houses, very walkable even into the city center (about 2 miles)
The host Virginia was super nice and welcoming. The house was built in 1891 (I believe) and has some very pretty interiors with simple but clean bathrooms. I enjoyed complimentary coffee, tees and fruits in the morning. All in all a very enjoyable stay if you're looking for something quiet and relaxing.
A nice assortment of healthy baked items and fresh fruit, juice, coffees and teas was available. Host was pleasant and hospitable. The hosts are a mother & daughter who are very peasant and hard working. I felt a kinship to them as my mother worked hard to raise my sister and I too. The price was reasonable and a major factor is my decision to give McLean Manor a try. I would go back; I'd like to see what else they do to the house. I hope they will be successful.
