We loved our stay at Hale Kawehi Guesthouse! The house is spacious and we had everything we needed- breakfast and snacks foods were even provided. There are lots of lovely seating areas, inside and outside. The house gets great air flow, as some of the only doors are fly screen doors. The quirky vibe is lots of fun! The facilities and full kitchen were great. Thank you for having us stay!

In the middle of rainforest country, the perfect place to detach, unwind and escape the hustle and bustle of tourist towns. Super convenient if visiting the volcanoes national park, only a 35 min drive up the road. I also loved how the facilities were super basic and powered off a generator as it added to the feel of being in the middle of nowhere. How easy the check in process was. No issues. Everything wuick without time consuming check in processes. We went straight to the cabin.

while a little out of the way, the setting was great and you could access site seeing locations with a bit of a drive. The cottage was quaint and beautifully set up. It had an outside kitchen (well sheltered) so took some time to get used to. The host was very friendly and offered lots of great ideas and wealth of information. If we had any questions, or concerns (about how things worked etc) he was quick to respond. I loved the chickens roaming the yard. I would definitely come again.
Very clean room in a quiet, green residential community. Great location close to the coast. There was a microwave and fridge, which were appreciated. Lots of birds and birdsong. Owner gave very clear instructions over text.
Overall the property was well presented and would be described as clean, tidy basic accommodation. Somewhat quiet location. Wifi was excellent and excellent consumables. Shower pressure good. Response from host as excellent.
It was further away from Hilo than I realized which made for a lot of driving. The relatively secluded and quiet neighbourhood was very nice. The hot tub was a nice addition. The kitchen, BBQ, and laundry were very well appreciated. We made smoothies with fresh fruit, partly from the yard.
This quiet cottage in a fantastic location surrounded by nature was absolutely amazing! There is also a fantastic host who gives tips on places worth visiting. It's the perfect combination of relaxation and adventure.
