Extraordinary hosts have created a breathtaking oasis in the cloud forest. We loved hearing the birds at night and in the morning, the crickets softlly chirping, and being surrounded by nothing but greenery. Did we love the hot tub? Yup. And the numerous small snacks, jet bath, and spaciousness of the room? Of course. But perhaps the best of all was the warmth, knowledge, and attention to detail of our two wonderful hosts, Eric and Christopher. The nearly two hour kaffeeklatsch at the end of our visit capped a wonderful, memorable stay.

We loved everything about Hale Nonno. It was the perfect size for the two of us and was very comfortable. The landscaping was absolutely amazing and really provided us with the perfect peaceful Hawaiian stay.

We had a lovely stay on the second floor of Jacob's house overlooking his garden. This was great because there were mosquitos on the ground level and we hardly got any bites when we were on the balcony. We probably should have checked in first before going to the grocery store as he had the basics available in the kitchen, pantry and fridge. We felt like we were in our own home, which is how we like to vacation. Jacob even helped us with cutting open the 4 coconuts we had bought. And the laundry machines were an added plus! We also liked that he was eco-conscious!
Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travelers who prefer laid-back accommodations with a personal touch. Usually family run, these hosts will provide local recommendations and even optional meals. Guest houses sometimes feature a cozy living room or a garden – and are still cheaper than most regular hotels.
Value for money; the service. The host was very responsive on our request. They explained when the ceiling light cannot be fixed.
