Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travellers who prefer unfussy accommodation with a personal touch. They are usually family-run, and your host will provide local recommendations and optional meals. Often cheaper than regular hotels, guest houses can also feature a cosy living room and a garden.
The ambiance of the property. In a quiet street with beautiful homes & guesthouses. Easy walk into town & easy access driving. Plenty of parking. Staff were very helpful & friendly. comfortable, spacious room with all amenities Gad a lift if on the 2nd or 3rd floor of the hotel section. Close to Acadia NP. Great breakfast.
The Inn on Mount Desert was a treat. I stayed there on Christmas Eve, and was able to walk the Coastal Path twice, and a short walk, about 2.5 blocks, brought me past two churches preparing for evening services, to a charming boutique, Sagegrass Gallery, that was open, and the town itself, with its window fronts so creatively adorned for the season.
The room had everything designed for comfort, convenience, and cleanliness. I especially liked the modern bathroom heating.
Breakfast was served restaurant style, and was also excellent.
Great location and very friendly and warm hosts. Homely touch with freshly baked cookies in the afternoon. Great coffee and tea facilities after a day of exploration. Situated in the center of town close to everything
Great location just minutes away from downtown Bar Harbor and Acadia. Much cheaper than staying in the middle of the city. The free Island Explorer bus stops right in front of the motel twice an hour to take you downtown if you don't want to drive. Renovated recently so felt clean.
Great Location, near all the touristic spots and sorely quiet as well. The facilities in the kitchen are comfortable indeed,
there's coffee all day long, snacks and a refrigerator to put your staff
I absolutely loved the calm, quiet rural feel of the area and the little group of vacation properties were in a beautiful setting. I loved that there was a kettle to make a cup of tea! So many other places just had a coffee machine and I don't drink coffee. It was great to be able to sit on the porch or outside at the picnic table and sea the ocean in the distance. We were in cottage number 1, right on the road but there was no noise at all. Very quaint and old style charm to the furnishings.
