Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travelers who prefer laid-back accommodations with a personal touch. Usually family run, these hosts will provide local recommendations and even optional meals. Guest houses sometimes feature a cozy living room or a garden – and are still cheaper than most regular hotels.
Green and lush garden gives some privacy. Very good breakfast with freshly squeezed juice, eggs of your choice, pancakes and fruits.
Good quality dinner also.
Secure parking and ample of friendly staff.
Quiet location.
Amazing, caring and sweet staff. The garden is really big, the room comfortable and they area nicely quiet.
Special kudos to the staff. After we went to the busstation they realized we forgot something in the room, and sent a bodaboda to catch up on us :D
Very good value for money!!
Five-star service. The staff, especially the receptionist Medius goes the extra mile.
She went in town extra to buy a Jackfruit for me and fish for dinner.
As a guest you feel very welcomed and they take care about you.
And it’s all about customer service nowadays.
A good location up on a hill, quiet and just 3 km in town.
Very good value for money.
Safe parking and security.
Highly recommended.
The location was amazing. Super quiet and with a beautiful garden with banana trees.
The staff was beyond words. Especially the lady. Super helpful, nice, professional and accommodating.
We had dinner at the property and the food was very good and affordable. The breakfast was also very good.
It was the perfect place for us, traveling with a kid, to stay in Fort Portal. Would love to come back.
Clean and quiet place, with friendly staff and great breakfast.
Hot water (but low pressure)
The host responds quickly.
Lots of private secure parking.
Comfortable, good-value beds and good, reasonably priced meals in a nice, leafy-green location with a beautiful view near the botanical gardens north of the city centre.
The bicycles available for rent are in good condition, just make sure the tyres are pumped up. Kyaninga Lodge on Lake Kyaninga is a very steep, gorgeous 8 km bike ride from the hostel, and they'll let you in to swim in the beautiful lake if you buy a drink.
The hostel is located around 20 min walking from the city center, so you can reach it by walking or take the boda-boda. The view from the property and around is amazing.
My room was comfortable and clean. The communication was also good.
The place is rather basic but beautifully located above the lake. The host is running an orphanage school which the income from the guest house helps finance. He is not a great hotelier and some things could definitely improve but your money goes for a good cause, the nature around is lovely and im sure during school season visiting/helping in the school can be lots of fun.
Sam is an amazing host, and the house is very well maintained, absolutely Western standard. The place is in a safe and quiet part of town, but walking distance from the center. The kitchen is well equipped, there are also indoor and outdoor seating areas, and they offer laundry service. Sam was really nice and gave advice on activities to do. Half an hour after we arrived, we decided to extend our stay!
