I was extremely pleased with my stay at Pensiunea Sarmis in Sarmizegetusa, Romania! The room was very cozy, clean and warm, which made my holiday even more enjoyable. The water in the bathroom was always warm, which is important for a comfortable stay. I also appreciated the free pool, which was a great way to relax after a day of sightseeing. The only downside was that the sauna was chargeable, but that didn't detract from my overall impression of the hotel.
Everything at Pensiunea Sarmis is done with attention to detail and style, the interior is all wood and looks very beautiful and authentic. The tavern is simply amazing - with the style of a hunting lodge, filled with furs and elements from nature, which creates a cozy and unique atmosphere. I had a wonderful time here and will definitely be back!

Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travellers who prefer unfussy accommodation with a personal touch. The property was very quiet, comfortable and very clean. The hosts were super friendly and helping.
It is a great place to stay if you want to visit Retezat National Park (1.5hrs away).

Very new room, beautifully designed and equipped. Property is lovely. Pretty indoor breakfast room if weather is not so good. Hosts are Romanians with experience living in England. They are worth getting to know, which is the wonderful thing about guesthouses. Excellent breakfast. Plus they can make you dinner if you like.
The location is great for a home base to visit nearby stuff like Deva and Hunedoara, but also to go on hikes in the Retezat mountains. Also the hosts are super nice, we were soo late, arrived well after midnight and they checked us in without any issues. Definitely recommend this place.
The quiet, rural and relaxed atmosphere was wonderful. I was warmly welcomed - and even though I arrived a day early, the caravan was available and bedding prepared. The host was really friendly and easy to approach. I would really recommend Camping Zamolxe, if I someone was looking for a place to stay in Sarmizegetusa.
Bright, modern and clean rooms, very comfortable beds, tea and coffee facilities in common area, outdoor seating. Peaceful and quiet location, very close to the archeological museum and Roman ruins. Lovely and dedicated host. Highly recommended. Many thanks
