This is a terrific place to stay! The room was nice, it had a very comfortable bed and the room size was good, but what really differentiates this hotel it its food - it is excellent! The breakfast buffet was sumptuous, a great selection of cold and hot items - of note were the homemade fruit preserves - plum, cherry and apricot - outstanding. The dinner menu offered a variety of Romanian dishes; we ate dinner in the restaurant all of the four nights we stayed here and every meal was delicious. The staff is friendly and receptive. Parking is next to the hotel and very convenient.
The location is an excellent base for exploring Maramures, and there is so much to do in this area. The Mocanita Maramures station is a 15 minute walk from the hotel, Sighetu Marmatiei is an hour drive away, Borsa offers great hiking trails.
In short, I highly recommend this hotel.

The host was very welcoming and took time to talk about life in Maramureş, the local culture and what to visit.
Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travelers who prefer laid-back accommodations with a personal touch. Usually family run, these hosts will provide local recommendations and even optional meals. Guest houses sometimes feature a cozy living room or a garden – and are still cheaper than most regular hotels.
A pleasant pension hosted by a very nice family. Dinner was very good and we were well looked after. There was an issue with their dog barking at night, but after messaging them, they sorted it.
There was an abundance of traditional food choices. A taste of Romania, a taste of Maramures was on that table.
Claudia, the host, is a very nice person, hard working and dedicated to the best comfort and unforgettable experiences of her guests. I felt like I knew her for a very long time even though I was there for 2 nights only. Hopefully will meet again soon!

Perfect location for a trip to Săpânța, Bârsana and Maramures. Absolutely quiet. Totally new hotel with spacious rooms. The offered dinner and breakfast are fantastic. The landlady is a perfect host! My best recommendation for a trip to Maramures. 100 Points!
