The room was exactly as I expected and what I booked for. The bed was nice, also for my (taller) size. Although the room was on the street side, there was no noise, other than people in the hallway. Shower was also fine, and everything was spotless clean.
Herdade de Alagães in Mértola provides accommodations with an outdoor swimming pool, free bikes, and a garden. Both free Wifi and parking on-site are accessible at the guest house free of charge.

beautiful property. rooms are lovely and very clean. Maria and Elsa are wonderful people.
Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travelers who prefer laid-back accommodations with a personal touch. Usually family run, these hosts will provide local recommendations and even optional meals. Guest houses sometimes feature a cozy living room or a garden – and are still cheaper than most regular hotels.
The quietness and peaceful nature of this place is amazing.
The breakfast was very nice, served in room and all fresh!
The host Maria is a very approachable person and not all intrusive.
Nice stay and would book again if around the area.
Nice room (albeit a bit narrow for luggage of two), great beds, super quiet at night, very lovely surroundings, extremely nice host. Very good breakfast.
Wonderful accommodation. We stayed in room 15 which had amazing bathroom and views over the river and town. Very clean and had everything we needed. Maria was a great host. Breakfast was perfect for price. Will visit again we are sure.
We were welcomed by Joao, a great host, who provided breakfast and helpful information for us. For example, he had books for us about birds and other wildlife when he found out that we are nature enthusiasts and he gave us hiking maps as well. The Guest House is fabulous and equipped with everything one can wish. Great restored house with lots of charme in the old town of Mertola!
We loved our stay!
Well equipped, comfortable bed, attractive location with views over the town. Quiet but only 5 minute walk to several restaurants and supermarket. Maria is a great host.
Jose was a great host, welcoming, friendly, and very helpful.
Breakfast was wonderful, plentiful with a wide selection. The location was perfect for us. Close to a local restaurant and just a short drive into Mertola, with great views of the surrounding countryside from the patio outside the room, west facing perfect for sundowners. For me, the best feature was the wonderful pool and terrace on the upper level. Friendly dogs were an added bonus.
Wonderful location in a typical Alentejo village. Very quiet area with not much to do, but that was the point. Very nice hosts. The house is small but was more than enough for us.
Great location with superb views of the river. very clean and comfortable. Friendly and welcoming host. A quirky well equipped apartment. Big comfy bed. Good shower. Very quiet.
