Very friendly husband and wife team. The breakfast was amazing. The views from the balcony were fabulous. It was a great starting point for exploring the Duoro Valley.

If there is a paradise on Earth, then it must be this place. The premises are located on a mountain overlooking a bend of the river Douro, and wyat a mesmerizing view it is! The room is nicely designed, not too fancy, but certainly good and comfortable, with a balcony to view the river. Breakfast is good and plentiful, with coffee and tea (and bisquits) available at the dining room all day. An infinity pool and a jacuzzi are available for the guests on a ramp with the same tabtalizing view of the river and the opposite mountains. The landlady, Rei - a very friendly and gracious lady, was extremely helpful and kind, and we felt very welcomed. Thank you Rei, we will come back again!

Maria is the most charming and welcoming hostess. We felt like long lost family members being welcomed home. We got a home tour and her house is just stunning as is the gardens and the surrounding vistas. Food and wine was delicious and plentiful.

My Dad and I arrived and were greeted warmly by the host. She showed us to our room and gave us recommendations on where to eat dinner in town. The area is beautiful and quiet. We had a wonderful breakfast the next day.
Wonderful guest house in the main street that has been beautifully renovated. Comfortable room, well appointed. Breakfast is served at the top of the house with amazing views over the town. Zelda was very welcoming and friendly. She is not on site but comes to do breakfast which was delicious. Bread was fantastic! We arrived just after check in time (3pm) and no one was there but Zelda arrived very soon after making contact and we hadn’t given our arrival time as had been advised so no fault of theirs. Great location right in town.
This little house is just that, everything is there, but small. The way it is organized, however makes it very comfortable for a base of visiting the town. You can make your breakfast in the morning and take off to see the local sights and everything is close. You can actually see the top of the Sanctuary (with all the steps) from the windows. It is quiet and the bed is comfy.
Our bus didn't leave till mid afternoon and the hosts let us stay an extra couple hours-thanks.
Great hosts, great location. The owners are some of the nicest people we have ever stayed with and made the place feel like home for my son, mother in law and husband. Would recommend staying here to everyone!
