Bambua is a fantastic place, if you know what you're signing up for. It's nestled into the jungle behind Sabang Town and Sabang Beach. It's about a ten minute walk to the beach, but at Bambua it feels like you're hundreds of kilometers from anything. We stayed in the apartment, which is a very large, two-level unit, with interesting and unique decoration. First place I've ever stayed with an aquarium. Great view across the jungle to the hills beyond. The people at Bambua are amazing - incredibly helpful and friendly. If you stay for a few days you will be family. There are many cute, friendly dogs and a couple of cats. While the menu is limited, the food is delicious and healthy, including the breakfasts. Good coffee. Great value for money.
We loved the apartment, but it needs to be understood that the accommodation is rustic. There is no AC, so things are very much open to the outside. That means there will definitely be moths and other insects; there are mosquito nets. There are geckos and some of them are seriously big and kind of loud. I love geckos; they are eating all kinds of things that you don't much want to have around and, to me, they're cute, but not everyone is used to them. The sounds of the jungle are all around you and can be loud.

Hostel new and have great new amenities,10 mins walking from centre but easily manageable. Rooms are dark so it keeps cool air in the room. If you want cheap nice room this is place to choose it from for short stop to El NIdo.

Very quiet and cute place away from the city center. Small village, near the beach (not the nicest though), enough local food options around. Host is super super nice and helps you with everything you need. Erven even got me a discount for my van ticket. Wifi is exceptional for this area, I had a few online meetings and honestly, the connection was better than back home in Germany. Bed was comfy and there was a common kitchen guests can use. Nice outside area also.
