Great place to explore Puno. Quiet alley entrance with a very friendly staff. You should get the keypad code before arrival especially during the off season or you may have to wait a little. It's about 15 min. To plaza major but lots of cheap food options nearby. Local market 1 block away. Good food there.

This hotel will easily exceed your expectations if you're mainly looking for a place to stay close to the bus station.
Olek and his family are friendly, attentive, and very understanding.
The room itself has an excellent bed which is crucial for weary travellers who still find themselves in transit.
The lights are bright, the curtains nicely close off the lights outside and you have a window at your bedside to control incoming airflow. And the hotel in general is quiet by bedtime for those with early buses the following morning.
They seem to fully understand what a hotel which is 1 minute away from a major bus terminal is for, and they check all of the boxes relevant to a traveller with a bus to catch in the coming hours.
And even with the station being so close, the buses depart from ports that are sufficiently distant from your room that you won't hear any of the hustle and bustle typical of a bus terminal. All of this for $13 a night.
Thank you, everyone at Sumita Wasi!

Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travelers who prefer laid-back accommodations with a personal touch. Usually family run, these hosts will provide local recommendations and even optional meals. Guest houses sometimes feature a cozy living room or a garden – and are still cheaper than most regular hotels.
Very atmospheric setting and authentic experience with charming hosts on a tiny island. It is truly unique and great for a night staying with the indigenous community.
Our stay with Isaac and his family was phenomenal! Isaac was a great host, who made sure we have everything we need for our stay. He ensured to give us a glimpse of the live on the Uro islands. He took us fishing and showed us the lake on a boat tour. The Lodge is really special, overlooking the magical Ticitaca lake. The nights are very cold, but our host made sure we have enough blankets and bottles with hot water. 10/10 we can recommend to stay here.
Renzo’s hotel is very charming, placed in a great spot on the lake titicaca. Renzo is a great host available to share very interesting facts about the culture, a true way (and the best) to discover the place and the Uros culture. Moreover he is very carefull to the customer needs and request. Thank you!!!!
Really interesting place. Location away from the city center, where it is easy to park a rental car, and enjoy some quietness. Price-quality this is really amazing, ie simple but ok breakfast and dinner included in price, and coffee+tea available at any time of the day. Interesting host, who is very spiritual, can tell interesting stories, is very helpful at any time when you need him. Host can arrange for the tours in the region (no need to go find and seek trips in Puno centre).
Ursula is the soul of this really charming hostal - lovely and helpful. in the hostal a small café can be found which is tastefully furnished (great tea and small snacks/ cakes) . Quiet. Breakfast served as of 6.30 am - including fresh juice and fruits (If you leave earlier she offers a small breakfast-bag). Very good price-value. Clean bed & bathroom. Hot shower.
I like the location of the hostel, just close to the mercado and city centre. The room was spacious. That was a cheap hotel, so I didn't expect much, that was just OK, nothing more.
- great location, fantastic view
- very friendly host
- good food, especially the breakfast
- nice boat trips
- the quiet...
Our host showed us the neighborhood and explained a lot about how the community lives and how the houses were built. It was really interesting!
