Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travellers who prefer unfussy accommodation with a personal touch. They are usually family-run, and your host will provide local recommendations and optional meals. Often cheaper than regular hotels, guest houses can also feature a cosy living room and a garden.
Our favourite hotel / hostel in our South America trip so far! Wilmar and his family were so kind and welcoming. The room and bathroom were extremely clean and spacious. The bed was so comfortable and the area was very quiet, we had such a good sleep the 3 nights we stayed! Breakfast was very cheap and delicious. The best part about this hotel was the view - my partner and I were in awe at how beautiful all the mountains look from the rooftop terrace.
Casa Samay is quaint and charming It is a walk form the town, but the scenery is stunning and the walk is very enjoyable. Carlos was so friendly and eager to help me and answer all my questions. It really feels like he’s welcoming you into his home. Very clean, and quiet too. Would definitely stay again!
Jorge was the most wonderful host, Parwa Guesthouse is more like a traditional bed and breakfast experience, it really feels like home. Our room was incredibly comfortable, it was spacious but felt so cosy. We stayed here before and after visiting Machu Picchu, Jorge allowed us to leave our luggage in the room as he had no booking for the night we were away, this was incredibly kind. Do yourself a favor and stay here, it’s simply magic!
Kamma guest house is clean, quaint, well located, excellent facilities and hosts! Breakfast was amazing best we have had on our trip so far wish we could have stayed longer!!
for a 2 star hotel it was superb, attention to detail, cosy room, home cooked breakfast, hot shower, exceptional hospitality from hosts, quiet, great location to square
- quiet
- both hosts are extremely welcoming and helpful!
- very clean and nice interior, even a hair dryer, a lot of cupboards and shelfs to store your luggage (rare in hostals or guest houses in Peru)
- good breakfast on a terrasse with the most beautiful view on Ollantaytambo
Amazing breakfast, banana, pineapple, kiwi, mango, grapes. Fresh fruit juice, tea, coffee, bread, butter, jam, eggs, quinoa drink. The breakfast deserves a 10 out of 10 on its own. The hostel is just around the corner from the ruins but on a quiet road. Large room, comfortable bed. Well equipped kitchen. Lovely rooftop area to sit, sunbathe and look at the ruins. Wonderful.
Our stay at Ccapac was wonderful! The hosts/owners are very welcoming, kind and helpful with local recommendations. The breakfast was amazing and very nourishing ahead of long treks. The rooms are very comfortable and quiet. Great location off the beaten path but in close walking distance to the center of Ollantaytambo! Highly recommend staying at Ccapac!
