We had a fabulous stay. The room was decorated beautifully, and you have all the utilities if you want to cook a meal. An outdoor bath is excellent after a hiking day. The hosts are super friendly and offered us fresh veggies from their farm. We can’t recommend more. We hope we can visit again.

Location was fine - at the end of a no-exit street, so very quiet. And Bell Block is not a long way out from New Plymouth. Whole place was well laid out, and a lot of thought put into what people might want or need during a stay. Roomy, more so than a motel room, with handy features like a dishwasher, a variety of cooking utensils, even some pineapple lumps for guests.

Robyn's Nest is a distance from New Plymouth, but in a lovely garden surrounded by countryside with a glimpse of the sea. Robyn and Graeme we're great hosts and our separate quarters very clean with a great firm bed. We were lucky to stay another night in the house and share some very good company.

We loved everything about the property - the decor and comfortable beds, the amazing view of the mountain from the sunny verandah, the private access to the river, the proximity to cafes and the beach, and the prompt communication with the hosts. Everything we needed was available, including plenty of towels and fresh, clean bedding. We thoroughly recommend Butlers Lane Retreat.
