Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travelers who prefer laid-back accommodations with a personal touch. Usually family run, these hosts will provide local recommendations and even optional meals. Guest houses sometimes feature a cozy living room or a garden – and are still cheaper than most regular hotels.
We had a fabulous stay at Bardia Eco-Lodge. The rooms and gardens are lovely. This is a true rustic eco-lodge blending beautifully with the natural surroundings. The lodge is walking distance to both the Elephant Breeding Centre and the main entrance of Bardia National Park. Our host Madhu, is a certified safari guide and we enjoyed an exceptional day on private jeep safari with him and a driver seeing a tiger, rhinos, many deer and monkeys.
The Host offered to pick me up from the main road and when I arrived at the location I got my room (house) and food right away. The family who runs the place was always friendly and super helpful. I just had two nights before my visa expired, so the first evening when I arrived I planed a jungle hike and a stay over in a tree house in the jungle for the next day with the host. Everything was super easy to plan and the two days were great. Also the talks with the family were exciting and interesting.
It's kind of farm stay in the middle of fields and crops. Very friendly host, treated me just like family..
They serve food made from freshly plucked vegetables grown organically in their own kitchen garden. Fresh air, water and simple people with big heart. Wifi available.
I feel so good that suddenly I am still there…… pramesh and Noemi are adorable, the cuisine of amrit is very good, krisna and pit the guides are charming and efficient. I saw a tiger yesterday. local life is beautiful and interesting. people are full of kindness. I highly recommend.
My stay at Jungle Base Camp was exceptional. Hukum is an amazing host. He will do his best to make your stay great (including refilling the fridge with beers as many times as needed...). You will get to share his daily life with his family. I had great conversation with him, and learnt a lot about the reality of Nepal while I was there. The lodges are simple but with all what is needed. The food is all organic and homemade, made with what grow in the garden. I recommend this place 100%.
The place is relaxing and quiet. The bathroom is attached in each room and clean. It is isolated and you can feel peace. The owners are friendly and kind. The owner is really attentive and active. His wife is always attending and asking us what we need. They are really good person. Hikom, the owner, is 30 years plus experienced guide for jungle. We even saw the tigers on our first day of jungle walk. Happy and satisfied that I chose jungle base camp as my stay while I am in bardiya.
Pramesh and Naomie are amazing hosts! Lovely traditional houses, comfy beds, brilliant food and Krishna the guide was amazing... with some funny stories!
I first booked only one night but ended up staying longer. Pramesh and Noemie are really welcoming, and the place is charming. You definitely don't want to miss out on the delicious home made pizzas and movie night in the garden.
It was the most comfortable bed of my stay in Nepal, and there is hot water in the shower too!
I strongly recommend
A very cozy and comfortable place in the heart of the jungle! We had a wonderful time with our hosts, they are super nice and always available to assist us whenever we need. We organized every jungle activity with the lodge. They also have a bar and a cinema corner for more chill activities. We will come back again!
