Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travelers who prefer laid-back accommodations with a personal touch. Usually family run, these hosts will provide local recommendations and even optional meals. Guest houses sometimes feature a cozy living room or a garden – and are still cheaper than most regular hotels.
Our "motel room" had a well equipped kitchenette, bathroom and a deck with a lovely view over the fjord. The campground was quiet, though this is because we were there before schools had broken up.
The hoster is very generous and kind, let us charged the car and gave us a lot of woods to keep the stove warm.
It was a pity we needed to leave early, so we didn't see the sun rise and the beautiful sea view.
Great hosts, easy communication. The house was pre-warmed, which was nice when we arrived late on a Friday evening. We have stayed here twice before and each year there are new improvements. Basement has had a makeover since the last time. We enjoyed our stay, as always. Everything you need is supplied and the place is cozy and comfortable. The house is in a residential area, close to grocery stores and an easy drive to downtown Risør.
If you want to get away from all-the-same hotel experiences and get a classic style home feeling this is the place to stay. I instantly felt welcomed in everything, from exceptionally friendly host to a cozy interior and thought out little details. The surroundings are also superb, we even stayed for longer then initially planned to enjoy the views and to hike in the woods.
The cabin was perfectly situated on a quiet bay, with easy access to the pittoresk village of Risør. The perfect hide away to relax a few days on the way to or from the ferry in Kristiansund. Thanks for letting us use the boat
Very friendly staff; we got an upgrade to a room in town; great location; free parking; very well equipped rooms and very clean; very yummy breakfast; free bikes for rent
Lewis was a very nice and friendly host, he told us a lot about the city, where we could go to and told us about life in Norway and especially about his life in Risør. Breakfast was very nice with a great view over the Oslofjord
Great host and hostess. The breakfast was unbelievable for a B&B. With the host acting as a chef in the morning making differnt things everyday. English, french, italian. I mean three kinds of home made jam. Fresh cherries from the garden.
In our view this B&B has all you can ask for in this price range in this area.
