Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travellers who prefer unfussy accommodation with a personal touch. They are usually family-run, and your host will provide local recommendations and optional meals. Often cheaper than regular hotels, guest houses can also feature a cosy living room and a garden.
We liked the hostess the most. Lovely lady. Straightforward, no nonsense, she’s operating her family home. She gives you information you need and leaves you alone. Ask questions and you receive as much or more than you need. More than a place to rest your head
It was really clean. The furniture and decorations where old, yes but that was charming!
There was a lot of selection for breakfast.
Our car didn’t start the next morning due to the effect of the cold that night and our host was very helpful and called a friend for help.
Very comfortable room in a lovely old house full of interesting features. Our host was friendly, spoke good English and was happy to tell us about the local area (both the history and the current facilities!). Breakfast was really nice.
Authentic 400 year old family farm house steeped in history and beautiful furniture and surroundings. The host and owner provided great service, above and beyond expectation.
The farm has been in the same family since the middle ages and the main room in the house dates to the early 1600s. The house is filled with antiques from the family and could be a museum all by itself. Breakfast was outstanding, plentiful, and served in the oldest and most beautiful room in the house, with a fire burning in the hearth and candles lit on the old tables. Sigrunn is a wonderfully knowledgeable, friendly and welcoming hostess. The bedroom was spacious and comes with its own bathroom and a well-equipped kitchen.
Amazing location and lovely hostess. The room was great. Would definitely come back!
