Clean room and bathroom, friendly host. Location is great, you can easily walk to the city center and it's just two blocks away from the pedestrian precinct. Parking is on the street but we didn't have a problem finding a spot in front of the house with our rental car. They have a nice kitchen to cook your own meals. The kitchen is well maintained and clean. There's also small garden where you can hang out and relax. It's cold in San Cristobal but there were enough blankets in the room to keep us warm. :) Would definitely stay there again.
Located in San Cristóbal de Las Casas, near San Cristobal Cathedral and Santo Domingo Church San Cristobal de las Casas, the historic Casa Tequio features a garden.

Really lovely staff! Great breakfasts made for you as you request them from the menu that they share that morning. Fresh juices every day. We were well looked after. We used the lounge and made a fire. Great place to share time with friends or family.

Great and quiet location, walking distance from everything. Easy self check in. The room was beautifully decorated and clean. The shower had good water pressure with hot water. The shared area is a big advantage where you can enjoy a cup of tea or coffee and oatmeal for breakfast. Both the host and Angelina that works there were friendly and helpful.

The property is stunning and so well curated that you can see that care that has gone into it. Every fixture, fitting and decoration has been carefully selected. The location is absolutely perfect and you are on the door step of the entro area. The staff are also amazing and a HUGE thank you to Carlos who made me feel so welcome, he’s an absolute credit to Casa Carmen and in my experiences travelling around Mexico he truly is a memorable individual and refreshing to speak to. Muchísimas gracias por todos Carlos!

The place is quite clean. Myra takes very good care to ensure that it stays that way. There’s always hot water, and the wi-fi, for the most part, works pretty well. The people who stay here are really nice, and there’s a sense of community. Although a bit far from the central area, the location is quite interesting and is a real neighborhood off the tourist track. The city’s huge central market is only about a 10-minute walk away, and you can buy most of the things you need to cook your own breakfast or other meals, if you so desire.

I give Hostel Ikal a 10+ rating because the whole vibe was excellent. The Hostal felt homey-like, very secured and safe and the owner and manager were extremely gracious and helpful with all my needs. This place far exceeded my expectations, and I will always return when in San Christobal. I cannot say enough good things about this hostel. I highly recommend it to everyone.

Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travellers who prefer unfussy accommodation with a personal touch. They are usually family-run, and your host will provide local recommendations and optional meals. Often cheaper than regular hotels, guest houses can also feature a cosy living room and a garden.
My partner and I had a lovely stay at Hostel Boutique 55.
Marta - the owner is really one of a kind, she has a lot of helpful tips about the area to offer and also helps you find the right tours. The Hostel feels more like a home and the vibe is just nice and peaceful. It is quiet at night and all the greenery and lovely decorations make it feel really homely. The common area has a well-equipped kitchen, board games, books and so on to make your stay enjoyable. We really enjoyed our time here.
Great location, a short walk from town and from the bus terminal. Beautiful building with terrace. Staff available 24/7 so we could drop our bags at 5am when we arrived in San Cristobal. You can arrange tours through the hostel - we did the canyon tour which was great and much cheaper than any of the options I found online. Great value room - I think a lot of the buildings in San Cristobal suffer from damp but they've obviously taken steps to address and prevent this in our room.
Amazing stay! Lovely hosts, comfortable/quiet room and great location. 5 min walk to the ADO bus station and a short walk to the city centre. Would stay again!
Nice hostel! 5 min to the market, 10 min to the city center. Quiet in the night!
Offers a lot of great tours, there is a campfire each evening.
Showers are hot, hammocks are comfortable and the common areas are nice.
Great hostel with chilled atmosphere and friendly staff. The kitchen has everything you need and enough space to store food. The bunk beds were in good condition and felt comfortable. The space and bathrooms always clean, with hot water. Great location, close to the centre, but also there are a lot of other restaurants and facilities close by. Great value for money!
We really enjoyed our stay. Ivan is a great host, we were arriving early in the morning and he offered us to have breakfast for a small price while we were waiting for our room to be ready. The breakfast was really great and changed a bit every day. It's a 10min walk from the main streets so it's still central but also quiet at night.
We were planning to stay 2 nights and instead stayed 4.
Super located in San Cristobal, near ADO bus Station and city Center. Shared kitchen is well equipped, and coffee and water are free for all guests. There are also activites planned by the hostal, like we made Tortillas by ourselves. This ist great to interact with other guests. The staff is super friendly and helps when ever needed. The room was clean and comfy, water was hot, and roo is quiet in the night. Leaving luggage after check out is no issue. Definately recommand and we would come again.
Great Hostel with breakfast and dinner included. Food was great!! They offer lots of fun activities and it's nice to party in the hostel but I could also sleep very well because in my room it was quiet and the volume of the music very low.
Wonderful small hotel 10 minutes walk from the historic city center. The remoteness of the hotel is offset by the fact that all the restaurants and shops around are much cheaper than the historic center. In addition, a very quiet place. Large and comfortable rooms, fast internet, good mattresses. A nice bonus is the well-equipped guest kitchen.
